Come, watch me paint, chat, and have some unique tapas style food and drink.

I’ll be painting the next five Fridays from 12:00 - 4:00 at Palette 22, in Shirlington, VA.

I would love to chat with you when you enjoy the unique food and drink found at P22.

It’s s a very artsy restaurant where all the art you can see is for sale.

More than 25 artists show their work here.

Styles range from realistic landscapes and portraits to cartoon and surreal work.

Mediums include, oil, acrylic, glass, metal, pencil, ink, marker and anything else an artist can think of.

Sizes, styles and prices fit any preference.

MY NEW ART ASSISTANTS

I have two new art assistants, Anna and Indie . I use all non toxic paint materials so Anna and Indie will be working in a cat friendly environment ❣️ (left Anna, right Indie)

BUSY DAY AT PALETTE 22

Painting at Palette 22 is always busy and fun, but even more so yesterday because it was BRUNCH❣️

Cataract Surgery

I had bilateral cataract surgery last week. I’m amazed by the improvement! The cloudiness develops so slowly… you don’t realize how bad you sight has gotten.

Let’s see if my art improves now that I can see!

Always fascinated by Science Fiction... I read countless books as a child. When the Star Trek TV series debuted, I was completely mesmerized. I have watched every series and movie numerous times. The original show aired way before modern CG technology.  Lots of scenes were shot on sound states with minimal decor representing alien planets "Where no man has gone before". This is my take on one of those barren planets.

The featured artwork incorporates at least 50% recycled materials, whether through items used or by taking an older piece and repurposing it into new art. Local artists also share how they recycle/reuse or share items no longer needed with the community.
